ABDOMINAL LIPOSUCTION

This procedure is also known as abdominal lipoplasty, or “lipo”. It eliminates, through suction, excess fat from specific areas in the abdomen. The goal of this procedure is to give the best possible “natural” body contouring.

Did you know ?

Abdominal liposuction is probably the most common type of lipoplasty surgeries. And although it may be performed separately, an abdominal liposuction is often combined with other surgeries as part of a body lift treatment.

Frequently asked questions

When to consider an abdominal lipo instead of an abdominoplasty?
In any case, always consult your surgeon as he will ensure you undergo the most appropriate procedure according to your needs. Nonetheless, note that an abdominal lipoplasty does not help remove excess, inelastic, or loose skin.

What will liposuction scars look like?
Because they are very small, incisions that are done during the abdominal lipoplasty barely remain visible after scarring. Generally, your surgeon will try to make the proper incisions in hidden areas.

What does an abdominal liposuction procedure consist of?
An abdominal liposuction consists of a three-step process mainly:
Separation: which is when the unwanted fat cells are emulsified and loosened.
Aspiration: which is when these loosened fat cells get sucked into the surgeon’s liposuction cannula.
Fat equalization: the remaining fat in the abdomen is equally smoothed out and surfaced, in order to prevent contour deformities and to maintain a nice body contour.
